Each year we are referred dozens of new people who would benefit from our assistance. Most of who are processing how to confront the realities of a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

In 2017 Pants Off Racing helped over 50 individuals or families.

It is in our nature to help an, so on occasion, we receive requests to help families who are fighting other serious illnesses. In the past 5 years, we helped individuals, and their families, who are dealing with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, brain cancer, skin cancer, and several other types of cancers.

Our vision and mission is to help those in need. To provide them with the support financially and personally in a direct means. We skip the middle-man. When called to action, we develop a relationship to really understand how we can be utilized best.

When we receive a donation, it will be used to help the individuals and their families. From helping offset medical bills to travel expenses, or simply sending care packages to those who are sick. We take the children on activities. Whether it is fishing, Disneyland, climbing rock walls, or trick or treating, we explore the world outside of the diagnosis. We know firsthand how our efforts, supported from your donations, put a smile on their faces and brighten their afternoons.

A big push for us is around the holidays when each of our families receives gifts from POR. Most of these items are bought by friends of POR, and the magnitude of the gifting is immeasurable.

Your donation may go towards anyone one, or more, of similar activities. It may go to the $1,500 medical trial Doug Carlson is receiving. It may pay for a family who is out of state to join us at the annual POR race and be inspired by the support our the community. Donations may pay for a hotel and Thanksgiving dinner for a patient or offset someone’s hospice stay.

There is an endless number of things that we can do to help others and these are a few examples of how donations ultimately help our Sentry Club. Requests for assistance usually range from $500 – $1,000, so a $5,000 donation may help 5 or more families.
