SUMMARY:POR POOL PARTY ~ Phoenix\, AZ
DESCRIPTION:We are always open to new ideas to have fun and raise some money for our outreach. This year we got the call from the Hammonds\, and they told us that their pool is finished and they want to host a party to celebrate the summer heat with some friends. If you are looking to get a sunburn\, or just dehydrate yourself to the max\, this is something you should be adding to your social calendar.  \n  \nTony and Abby have known the meerkats since they were born. They have been to our Almost 10k races and even have brought up a conversion van of friends for the race. Their costumes usually rank among the best in west.  \n  \nDetails on the pool party include live music\, drinks and a pool. Everything is provided once you show up. The party will start around 2pm – 8pm on Saturday June 8th. Phoenix is a great place to try new activities. So build out a weekend of hiking Camelback\, golfing or Top Golfing\, go downtown for the First Friday street festival\, have some wings @ JT’s\, tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s house Taliesin West\, or just find a nice comfortable place in the air conditioning.  \n  \nThis is going to be fun and hopefully something we can do more of. Having a fundraising pool party is a little bit different\, but when you want to be outside and it is 100+ degrees out\,  you better be in the water! Check out the event on facebook to RSVP.  \n

SUMMARY:Chattanooga Ironman
DESCRIPTION:POR is excited to send some Swim-Bike-Running Meerkats and supporters to the site of the 11th race in the IRONMAN U.S. Series\, with its dramatic scenery\, idyllic weather and low-key southern charm. \nIRONMAN Chattanooga will begin with a point to point\, 2.4-mile swim in the Tennessee River alongside the city’s famous Riverwalk. The 116-mile bike course will do two loops in North Georgia with scenic farmland and mountain views. The two-and-a-half loop\, 26.2-mile run course will showcase beautiful downtown Chattanooga\, Riverview and the North Shore. \nIt may be too ambitious (or not)\, but the 2017 IRONMAN Chattanooga offers 40 qualifying slots for the 2018 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona\, Hawaii.

SUMMARY:2018 Pleasant Lake Run & Ride
DESCRIPTION:Run and ride to support Trail’s Edge Camp – C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital on Sunday\, July 22nd\, 2018. The Pleasant Lake Relay takes place on beautiful dirt roads just west of Ann Arbor\, MI. Teams of 2 people will work together to complete the 27.2-mile course on foot and bike.

SUMMARY:Ville to Ville Relay Race
DESCRIPTION:The Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay celebrates the beautiful region from Asheville\, NC to Greenville\, SC. It is a 75-mile team running event traveling from the peaks to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains\, through local craft breweries\, and into quaint southern towns.  In April 2018\, POR had over 20 runners split across 4 relay teams to raise awareness and funds for Pancreatic Cancer. \nBig thanks to lululemon athletica and Goodr sunglasses for hooking the team up with some awesome race swag!

SUMMARY:POR Comedy Night
DESCRIPTION:POR Comedy Night has become one of our favorite annual events. Zoe Rogers consistently puts on a hilarious show\, with some of the best comedians from all over the U.S.. All proceeds go to POR\, and it is true laughter is the best medicine. Even though the most recognized comics are local to LA\, actually going to a comedy event is way better than any second hand joke.
